Abstract

The MODAVIS Pipe Organ Dataset (POD) combines records from 25 source collections for research on pipe organs, their builders, technical specifications, documented histories, locations, and virtual representations. Release 1.5.0 contains 215,769 canonical organ records, 11,778 canonical builders, 333,519 builder assertions, 503,980 structured specification components, 115,814 technical facts, 454,789 documented event assertions, 897 virtual instruments, and 34,038 corrected musiXplora relations. Disagreements between technical sources are retained with their citations. Events report documented history and do not state an organ's present condition. The record provides SQLite databases for general use, OrgMap, and OrgRec; a persistent identifier ledger; native MODAVIS, CIDOC CRM 7.1.3, Polifonia Organs 1.0, and Europeana Data Model JSON-LD exports; checksums; provenance; a dataset card; citation metadata; and release documentation. The Europeana Data Model export is a mapping preview rather than an ingestion package. A PostgreSQL 15 custom-format dump reproduces the public dataset in MODAVIS Navigator. It contains only the publication-safe schema and is accompanied by a database manifest, restore instructions, a select-only runtime profile, verification results, and the exact public-profile source overlay. The dump was restored into an empty PostgreSQL 15 instance and tested through representative Navigator routes before deposition. The open files contain structured facts, identifiers, source citations, and links between related records. They do not contain copies of source databases, descriptive source prose, or binary media. A separate restricted record preserves the complete research package for authorized review.
