The Essence of Space
Abstract
For over a century, theoretical physics has relied on unobservable abstractions—such as zero-dimensional point particles, probability clouds, and background fields—to reconcile mathematical anomalies. This paper proposes a deterministic, purely geometric alternative grounded in space as an active continuum governed by dual-opposite restoring tensions: $a(x) = \frac{1}{x^2} - x^2$. This restoring field forms a rigid potential well with a fundamental curvature of $U''(1) = 4$, capable of confining free energy without empirical free parameters. Under this framework, time is demonstrated to be an emergent artifact that algebraically cancels out in bound-state derivations ($d\tau \equiv 0$ at $c$). Furthermore, electric and magnetic fields are unified as orthogonal two-dimensional projections (planar face versus line profile) of a $90^\circ$ dual-disk ($2D + 2D$) topology. Consequently, an electron is revealed to be a single photon trapped perpetually at speed $c$ along the $u - \frac{1}{u} = 1$ critical boundary. This framework provides an intuitive, self-consistent geometry uniting space, light, and mass.
