Abstract

# Lidar turbulence dissipation analysis Code accompanying: Measurement of turbulence energy dissipation rate by a standalone high-resolution Doppler lidar (AMT, 2026) Authors: A.H. Syed, J. Mann, M. Manami ## Overview This repository contains the Python code used to process six-beam pulsed Doppler lidar observations and estimate the turbulent kinetic energy dissipation rate using velocity structure functions. The repository also contains the code used to evaluate spatial probe volume effects, temporal averaging, and the spatial+temporal lidar structure-function model. ## Repository structure scripts/ Scripts used to reproduce the manuscript analyses. figures/ Scripts used to generate the manuscript figures. ## Requirements Python >= 3.0 ## Reproducing the results 1. Obtain the required lidar and sonic-anemometer datasets. 2. Update the data paths in the code files. 3. Run: python scripts/Main_lidar_epsilon.py 4. Generate the manuscript figures using: python scripts/Main_results_visualization.py ## Data availability The raw lidar observations are not included in this repository. See the manuscript Data Availability statement for information regarding access to the observational data.
