UED Reconstruction Programme — Paper 1: Energetic Reconstruction of Classical Mechanics
Abstract
This paper establishes the mechanical base layer of the UED Reconstruction Programme by reconstructing classical mechanics in an explicitly energetic and consequential language without altering its verified empirical predictions. Conservative mechanical interaction is represented through configurational energy U(q)U(q), with the local generalized energetic drive defined by QE=−∂U/∂qQ_E=-\partial U/\partial q. Combined with inertial response, this recovers the classical Lagrange equation and, in Cartesian constant-mass form, Mq¨=−∇U+QncM\ddot q=-\nabla U+Q_{nc}. The same structure yields work-energy conservation, impulse-momentum response, equilibrium, Hessian-based local stability, normal-mode dynamics, persistence barriers, and explicit mechanical-energy loss under linear damping. A mass-spring-damper system provides technology-level validation. The reconstruction also establishes an important negative result for the wider programme: energy is not identical to active Delta, because inertial motion can persist without a continuing energetic gradient. Paper 1 therefore does not propose new mechanics. Its role is to establish the classical limit, variable discipline, energy accounting, persistence criteria, and no-patch methodology that later UED papers must recover or explicitly generalize.
