UED Reconstruction Programme — Paper 7: Electrical and Magnetic Response
Abstract
Paper 7 of the UED Reconstruction Programme reconstructs electrical and magnetic behaviour as measurable response of persistent material configuration to calibrated external controls, without assuming microscopic carrier-particle, spin, orbital, current-loop, or electromagnetic-field ontology as a premise. The central construction is an effective configuration energy depending on electrical potential, electric-control, and magnetic-control variables. In the weak reversible regime, its differential defines net electrical coupling, electric dipole-like response, and magnetic moment-like response as configuration-energy derivatives. Second derivatives generate electric, magnetic, and mixed response tensors and yield a cross-response reciprocity condition when the energy is smooth and reversible. Electrical current is defined operationally as the time-rate of transferred electrical response, with a local continuity equation preserving net accounting without specifying microscopic carriers. Classical inverse-square electrostatic response, linear conduction, resistance, capacitance, reversible electrical storage, magnetic alignment, induction, inductance, mutual coupling, transformer action, and RLC resonance are reconstructed as empirical or constitutive response regimes. The same configuration-energy framework connects directly to Paper 6 spectroscopy: electrical and magnetic controls alter persistent-state energies, producing measurable spectral shifts from differences in state response coefficients. The paper deliberately leaves unresolved the microscopic origin and possible quantization of electrical and magnetic coupling, the SVE mechanism responsible for static and induced control maps, the microscopic origin of resistive dissipation, and the derivation connecting the Paper-3 optical ripple state to Paper-7 electrical and magnetic variables. Paper 7 therefore preserves established electrical and magnetic engineering relations while separating successful operational equations from unearned microscopic ontology.
