Illustration of the Virtual Stepping-Stone Task: Participant and Overview Views
Abstract
This video illustrates the virtual stepping-stone task used in the study Children’s Visual Guidance of Self-Selected Stepping Routes: Gaze–Route Correspondence in Virtual Reality. The task required children to physically cross a virtual river using a self-selected route across seven stepping stones. The video first shows the task from the participant’s perspective and then from an overview perspective to illustrate the spatial arrangement of the stepping stones and the structure of the task. The recording is provided as an illustration of the experimental task and should not be interpreted as a representative example of the gaze or behavioural results reported in the article.
