Abstract

From August 2016 to October 2017 a programme of archaeological investigation was undertaken in Broadway A remarkable sequence of human activity was revealed from the Mesolithic period onwards, representing over 7000 years of activity across the site, situated alongside a small stream (Badsey Brook). The multi-period site has local and regional significance, dating from the Mesolithic through to the present day. The scheme allowed for a unique insight into the historic landscape surrounding this part of the brook, and whilst later prehistoric and Roman archaeology was expected, the presence of early prehistoric and Anglo-Saxon features marks an important discovery for the region.
