Abstract
This volume looks at the oldest churches in South Yorkshire and includes in-depth investigations of the building histories and important features of seven of the most interesting. Also included is a gazetteer of all the medieval churches in South Yorkshire, with notes on the date of the buildings and features of especial interest, and a survey of pre-conquest sculpture in South Yorkshire.
