Abstract

A 6-year-old girl with Down syndrome presented with persistent torticollis and sudden neurological deficits. CT and MRI scans diagnosed an atlanto-axial dislocation (C1-C2) with severe spinal cord compression. Conservative treatment using traction and a Halo-Vest for three months was successfully implemented. The case highlights the critical importance of early diagnosis of neurological signs in patients with ligamentous laxity.
