Abstract

This report details two paediatric cases of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) as a complication of acute otitis media. Patients presented with subtle symptoms including strabismus, vomiting and behavioural changes. Angio-MRI confirmed extensive thrombosis of the transverse and sigmoid sinuses. Even without typical signs of otomastoiditis, early diagnosis is critical due to the 5-10% mortality rate. The case underscores the diagnostic complexity and the debated role of anticoagulants in paediatric CVST.
