SUPRACONDYLAR HUMERUS FRACTURES
Abstract
Supracondylar humerus fractures are the most common elbow fractures in the pediatric population and have the potential to cause serious complications. Therefore, orthopedic surgeons must carefully manage the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up processes. These fractures account for 15-17% of all pediatric fractures and 50-70% of elbow fractures. They are more commonly observed in boys, typi-cally between the ages of 5-8, and usually affect the non-dominant extremity.
