Abstract

Distal forearm fractures in children account for approximately 30% of pediatric fractures and are most common around the age of 10 years. Due to the lower mineral density of children’s bones, they have a greater capacity to deform before fracture. While the distal radial epiphysis usually appears at the age of 2 years, epiphyseal closure occurs after 16-17 years in girls and approximately one year in boys.
