PEDIATRIC HIP DISLOCATIONS
Abstract
Traumatic hip dislocations in children are extremely rare. While low-energy trauma can lead to disloca-tions in children under six years of age, such cases are often accompanied by predisposing factors such as hyperlaxity, coxa valga, or reduced acetabular coverage. However, in older children, higher-energy traumas, such as those associated with football injuries or motor vehicle accidents, are typically re-quired for dislocations to occur.
