Abstract

Distal femoral metaphysis and physis injuries are significant in pediatric trauma due to their potential impact on bone growth and development. These injuries account for a substantial proportion of fem-oral fractures in children and require careful assessment to prevent long-term complications such as limb length discrepancies and angular deformities. The management of these fractures varies based on fracture type and severity, ranging from conservative treatment to surgical intervention. This review discusses the anatomical considerations, classification, diagnosis, and treatment approaches for distal femoral fractures in children, with a focus on optimizing patient outcomes.
