PEDİATRİC TİBİAL SHAFT FRACTURES
Abstract
Pediatric tibial fractures are among the most common long bone fractures in children and typically re-sult from low-energy rotational trauma or high-energy accidents. In younger children, spiral or oblique fractures are more common, while in older children, high-energy traumas such as sports activities or motor vehicle accidents are more frequent, often accompanied by fibular fractures. Open fractures account for 9% of pediatric tibial fractures, and the tibia is the second most commonly affected long bone in cases of child abuse.
