Abstract

Evaluating bone fractures in children requires a different approach to adults due to the growth plate (physis) and bone biomechanics. These differences require special attention in both diagnosis and treatment processes. In this chapter, the classification of paediatric bone fractures is analysed, and var-ious classification systems are presented. The correct classification of paediatric fractures is a critical step for the selection of appropriate treatment and prognosis. A correct understanding of paediatric fractures is aimed to facilitate decision-making processes and contribute to the improvement of clinical outcomes.
