DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF NATAL FRACTURES
Abstract
Neonatal fractures are a group of traumatic injuries that occur in newborns due to difficult or compli-cated birth processes. These fractures are an important clinical problem in the fields of neonatal care and pediatric orthopedics. Timely diagnosis and appropriate intervention play a critical role in both preventing complications and increasing long-term recovery rates. The incidence of neonatal fractures increases in difficult births in overweight newborns. Clavicle fractures are the most common among neonatal fractures, and other bones of the skeletal system can also be damaged in newborns, although less frequently. In addition, metabolic diseases, child abuse and Osteogenesis Imperfecta should defi-nitely be considered in these fractures.
