THE ROLE OF PREVENTIVE CARE IN MANAGING MATERNAL HEALTH CHALLENGES
Abstract
Preventive care plays a crucial role in improving maternal health by addressing risk factors and mini-mizing the incidence of complications that can arise during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Early intervention, screening, and health promotion can significantly reduce maternal mortality and morbidity. Preventive strategies focus on various key areas, including nutrition, infectious disease prevention, and screening for pregnancy complications such as hypertension and gestational diabetes. Essential services like antenatal care (ANC) and family planning also contribute to the overall health of mothers and children.
