Abstract

This randomized crossover trial compared the bioavailability of liposomal vitamin C (Lipomac™) with nonliposomal vitamin C in 12 healthy individuals, equally divided across two treatment sequences. The liposomal formulation (Treatment A) reached a higher peak plasma concentration (Cmax) of 16,462.86 ng/mL and an area under the curve (AUC) of 1,22,809 ng.h/L, with a Tmax of 4 hours. In contrast, the nonliposomal form (Treatment B) showed a Cmax of 6,950 ng/mL and an AUC of 60,506 ng·h/L. The relative bioavailability of the liposomal version was approximately 2.36 times greater, reflecting improved absorption and systemic exposure. These results suggest that the liposomal delivery system markedly enhances vitamin C bioavailability, supporting its use for more effective therapeutic delivery.
