Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to identify and analyze the adaptation strategies employed by santri mahasiswa (student-santri) in coping with academic pressure from university and strict discipline in the pesantren environment. The issue arises from the psychological fatigue faced by students who carry dual roles. Using a qualitative case study approach at Al-Aziziyyah Islamic Boarding School, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The findings reveal four key adaptive strategies: organizing adaptive and structured schedules, time management training, forming support groups, and providing emotional-academic counseling services. These strategies effectively help student-santri balance academic and religious demands, strengthen psychological resilience, and foster social cohesion. The study is significant for educational institutions in developing more flexible and mentally supportive guidance systems for student-santri.
