Abstract
Clay minerals are key components of the Earth's surface lithosphere and are naturally occurring nanomaterials that play a crucial role in biological, physical, and chemical processes of soils. This article provides a concise overview of the classification, structure, and properties of clay minerals. It also presents recent results of our research group on their dielectric properties and discusses their potential application as low–cost absorbers of electromagnetic radiation.
