La investigación universitaria en la UNAN-Managua/CUR-Estelí como motor de formación y transformación social

University research at UNAN-Managua/CUR-Estelí represents a strategic initiative in academic training, scientific production, and social transformation, aimed at systematizing the lessons learned from the institutional research process carried out in 2025. This article aims to analyze these experiences from a descriptive-interpretive perspective, supported by a review of institutional documentation and statistical analysis of outreach programs and national policies. Methodologically, a documentary review of institutional reports, academic records, and research evidence was conducted, analyzing 207 projects involving 466 undergraduate and graduate students, 46 faculty members, and inter-institutional projects. The results demonstrate significant progress in consolidating a research culture linked to priority areas such as Education and Economic Sciences, strengthening scientific competencies, critical thinking, gender equity, innovation, and social commitment. Similarly, these experiences align with the National Plan to Combat Poverty, the National Education Strategy, and the Sustainable Development Goals, highlighting research as an educational process that goes beyond the generation of knowledge to become a tool for addressing regional challenges. Challenges related to interdisciplinarity, expanding student coverage, systematizing post-research impact, and scientific internationalization are also identified. It is concluded that the experiences of the research process at UNAN-Managua/CUR-Estelí reflect sustained institutional evolution, positioning university research as an integrating axis for comprehensive education and social transformation with national and international reach.
