Abstract

The text "Evaluation of Learning: Different Perspectives in Education" discusses the importance of assessment as an essential component in the educational process. It emphasizes that education, being a social phenomenon, requires students to develop the necessary competencies to solve problems in their environment, and that the quality of assessment is crucial in accurately reflecting the learning acquired. The text highlights the importance of adopting active and student-centered teaching strategies, such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and formative assessment, which allow for a better understanding and application of knowledge. These methodologies not only facilitate meaningful learning but also promote student autonomy and responsibility in their own educational process. The studies reviewed in the text show that, although traditional practices like exams persist, more dynamic and reflective methodologies offer better results in terms of learning and competence development. In conclusion, the text emphasizes the need for a change in educational practices, advocating for assessments that not only measure student performance but also guide and improve the teaching-learning process, thereby contributing to higher quality and more relevant education in the current context.
