Abstract

Coal remains one of the world's most critical energy sources. As coal demand continues to rise, mining intensity increases, and the challenges of gas prevention and control grow increasingly complex. Traditional blowout prevention technologies face numerous limitations. Addressing safety hazards caused by gas blowouts during underground coal mine gas extraction operations, this study analyzes the mechanisms of coal and gas outbursts and reviews blowout prevention technologies. Building upon existing blowout prevention devices, an innovative blowout prevention device for gas extraction boreholes was designed and researched. This device primarily consists of a wellhead blowout preventer, a gas-water-slurry dynamic separation unit, a discharge mechanism, and a monitoring system. It achieves fully enclosed, negative-pressure, high-efficiency gas extraction alongside efficient separation and discharge of gas, water, and slurry.
