This article examines the impact of generative AI on students’ employment confidence and expectations by adopting a literature review methodology. Previous empirical studies reveal both positive and negative consequences. On the one hand, generative AI creates opportunities by offering personal career advice and job-hunting guidance. On the other hand, it also brings challenges as students show fear of replacement and heightened competition. Findings consistently suggest that students who develop a more comprehensive understanding of generative AI demonstrate stronger employment confidence and maintain more realistic expectations.
