That is the sound of inevitability. . . .” And if there is one thing that is inevitable, it is that regulations will quickly develop around the way that we interact with and utilize artificial intelligence. No matter how innovative or disruptive artificial intelligence may be, lawmakers and regulators will not allow it to operate unchecked. Congress recently elected not to impose a moratorium on state regulation, and California has charged ahead with regulatory efforts that are likely to influence other states. The European Union has also begun imposing regulations that may also provide insight regarding the direction that states will take as they continue to deal with this issue.
