Abstract

The introduction and continued enforcement of rigorous waste-discharge regulations have heightened the need for innovative waste-treatment methods. Wastewater treatment is becoming increasingly important as the global human population grows rapidly. Hence, wastewater treatment technologies are designed to maintain high densities and activity of microorganisms that meet various purification requirements. If the pharmaceutical industry's waste is not adequately managed, it can harm the environment and public health. One advanced and promising technique for removing and reducing heavy metals from contaminated soil and water is bioremediation. Microorganism-based bioremediation has significant potential for future development due to its affordability and environmental friendliness. Numerous microorganisms, such as bacteria, yeasts, fungi, and algae, can operate as physiologically active methylators and alter harmful species. Microorganisms are essential to the bioremediation of heavy metals. By creating environmentally friendly nanomaterials to reduce these pollutants, nanotechnology may reduce industry costs. As a growing field, green biotechnology benefits from the use of microorganisms for nanoparticle synthesis, thereby lowering costs and promoting sustainable production. Nanotechnology can enhance traditional technologies across various fields, including medicine, wastewater treatment, and pollution management.
