Abstract

Recently, surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) has proven to be an effective method for lung cancer diagnosis and therapeutic applications. It exhibits ultra-high sensitivity and superior molecular fingerprint recognition capability. It also shows powerful adaptability to complex biological samples. The present review highlights the latest progress in SERS-enhanced substrates and novel detection approaches. It lays particular emphasis on their utility in lung cancer early detection and treatment monitoring too. We also discuss future trends of research towards clinical translation of SERS-based lung cancer care.
