Where Is Modern Analytical Chemistry Heading from the Point of View of the International Activities of Division V (Analytical Chemistry) of the International Union for Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC)

Division V (Analytical Chemistry) of IUPAC (DIV V) is among the most active divisions of this international organization, which is given by a great importance of analytical chemistry, its pronounce international character, and by the fact that most of chemistry graduates (according to their own personal evaluation) work in the field of analytical chemistry and applies modern measuring (e.g., analytical) techniques to solve various tasks. The aim of this article is to reflect on the trends of modern analytical chemistry, as well as to summarize main tasks, missions, and present activities of DIV V. A special emphasis is put on the activities of Czech and Slovak analytical chemists connected with DIV V projects in the field of modern analytical methods.
