Pulmonary rehabilitation nursing for an elderly patient with severe pneumonia and tracheotomy under the multidisciplinary team

To summarize the experience of pulmonary rehabilitation nursing for an elderly patient with severe pneumonia and tracheostomy. Key points of nursing included: A multidisciplinary collaborative team was established to conduct multi-dimensional early rehabilitation, including the implementation of sequential respiratory support therapy, comprehensive measures for airway clearance, early and progressive rehabilitation training, as well as individualized nutritional and psychological interventions. In addition, hospital-family linkage and connection were strengthened to facilitate the patient's return to social roles. After receiving personalized rehabilitation training and nursing care, the patient's tracheostomy tube was successfully removed, with the functions of phonation and respiration reconstructed, and the ability of daily living self-care restored. The patient was discharged with improvement after 49 days of hospitalization.
