Nursing managing of severe thrombocytopenia induced by Tirofiban in a patient after undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention
Abstract
This paper presents a summary of the treatment course and nursing management of a patient who developed severe thrombocytopenia following the administration of Tirofiban after undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Key nursing interventions included dynamic monitoring of platelet count, early identification of bleeding risks and clinical changes, optimization of antithrombotic therapy, simultaneous psychological support and health education, phased rehabilitation activities, and dietary adjustments. After 8 days of active treatment and attentive nursing care, the patient fully recovered and was discharged. Subsequent follow-up has shown no signs of bleeding or cardiovascular adverse events.
