Teatrul posttotalitar al lui Constantin Cheianu: identitate, tranziţie şi absurd
Abstract
Constantin Cheianu's dramaturgy reflects the identity crisis and social instability of post-Soviet Moldova, portraying disoriented characters that are victims of corruption and the challenges of transition. His texts combine social realism with experimental theatrical expressions, including farce, the absurd, and meta-theatre, to interrogate the relationship between the individual and power. The plays "Volodea, Volodea", "Luna de la Monkbery", and "În container" highlight social precarity, migration, and the disintegration of institutions. In the cycles "Plasatoarele" and "Luministul", the playwright employs the theatre of the absurd and meta-theatrical mechanisms to dismantle stage conventions and involve the audience in the performance. His work belongs to a post-totalitarian Eastern European tradition, transforming the theatre into a space for critical reflection and understanding of contemporary reality
