WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT IN TRANSLATION: EQUIMETRY OR IMPRESSION?
Abstract
This article examines the translation skills of the famous translator Shoislom Shomuhammedov, who translated thousands of rubai, hundreds of ghazals and dozens of epics (including the Shahnameh) from the Persian-Tajik language into Uzbek. It is also emphasized that poetry can be created in almost any meter of the Uzbek language, and most importantly, that the study of Persian ghazals and rubai gives the reader the opportunity to more deeply feel poetry and the spirit of the era.
