Abstract

The learning of mathematics in the Ecuadorian educational context has revealed significant difficulties in students with conditions associated with attention and learning development problems, which raises the need to explore innovative teaching strategies that promote their academic performance. The purpose of this study was to analyse the impact of an interactive digital tool on the learning of mathematics by a first-year secondary school student with attention and learning difficulties. It was developed through a case study, with a methodological design that integrated an initial qualitative analysis of a documentary and historical nature and, subsequently, a quantitative approach with longitudinal data collection. As an intervention, various mathematical stimulation activities designed in the Educaplay tool were applied, aimed at strengthening attention, content comprehension, and mathematical problem solving. The results showed a significant improvement in the student's mathematical performance after using the tool, demonstrating sustained progress in his learning. It was concluded that the use of interactive digital resources was an effective pedagogical strategy to support mathematics learning in the case studied, contributing to a more inclusive and contextualised educational approach.
