Birth of a Mother, a Midwife, a Business
Abstract
Homebirth was not for me, as a woman or a midwife. I thought it was too risky. However, today I am a nationally awarded private homebirth midwife and mentor, having built a thriving midwifery business from the ground up. In this article I share my experience navigating the transition into private practice, the strategies I have employed to overcome challenges, and how I developed a sustainable and successful midwifery practice. If you are considering going into private practice, I hope my story encourages you to connect with the support you need to bring your vision to life.
