Abstract

Objective: To review and synthesize the scientific literature on telehealth use for glycemic control of people with diabetes in Brazil. Material and methods: This is an integrative review conducted through searches in Medline/PubMed, Embase, Lilacs, EBSCO, Virtual Health Library (VHL), Scopus, Web of Science, and SciELO databases, including Google Academics, for articles published between 2014 and 2024. Results: Six studies were included, with 83.3% being clinical trials, 66.6% conducted by primary healthcare services, and 50% reporting a reduction in glycated hemoglobin levels among the participants who underwent remote consultation compared to in-person care. Conclusion: Studies have shown that telehealth can contribute to glycemic control, and the need for continuous improvement in the use of this technology across the country, as well as focus on patient-centered care, should be highlighted
