Abstract

In the face of growing strategic uncertainty and the excessive nature of threats – both conventional and asymmetric – medium-sized states such as Poland are compelled to redefine their approach to defense policy. Effective deterrence and safeguarding of territorial integrity should incorporate the lessons of the war in Ukraine and contemporary operational concepts, such as the Concept for Deterrence and Defense of the Euro-Atlantic Area (DDA). The ability to operate in a multi-domain environment and the synchronization of military, informational, and societal components are of critical importance. It is essential to develop autonomous operational capabilities, ensure flexible responses in the early phase of a crisis, and strengthen resilience as fundamental elements of defense policy in the conditions of delayed or limited allied support.
