Abstract

This paper gives an account of a study that sought to assess and evaluate how social media and other means of communication can help improve the reputation of institutions such as schools. The study finds that marketing has positive influence to sustain institutions irrespective of its location. It also reveals that marketing and promoting the reputation of an institution through social media has a potential to increase enrolment. The above coupled with consistent communication, the study shows, increase trust levels between the institution and its stakeholders. Among other things, the study recommends that schools should consider hiring press officers in order to attract new learners and as well as use SGB members and teachers as ambassadors of their schools on social media.
