Abstract

The science of dream interpretation has long been distinguished by its close and multifaceted connections with various sciences, disciplines, and fields of knowledge.Owing to its engagement with a phenomenon related to the unseen and occurring during sleep-a state marked by ambiguity and concealment-it relies extensively on the outcomes of other sciences.Dreams, as the primary subject of this discipline, initially appear as internal mental images experienced during sleep. However, once narrated, they become spoken or written texts that are governed by linguistic rules, particularly those of Arabic grammar. This study seeks to explore the relationship between the science of dream interpretation and Arabic grammar by examining how grammatical principles contribute to the interpretive process. It highlights the role of syntactic structures, sentence patterns, grammatical functions, and linguistic analysis in facilitating the transition from the apparent wording of a narrated dream to its deeper interpretive meanings.By demonstrating the ways in which grammatical data are employed in deriving signification, the paper underscores the interdisciplinary nature of dream interpretation and affirms the central role of Arabic grammar in shaping and guiding the interpretive act.
