LA PEDAGOGÍA DE LA LIBERACIÓN: UN ESTUDIO BIBLIOMÉTRICO DE LA PRODUCCIÓN CIENTÍFICA SOBRE PAULO FREIRE

La pedagogía de la liberación expuesta por Paulo Freire se constituye en un marco teórico fundamental para la academia contemporánea, siendo pertinente elaborar un análisis bibliométrico de las publicaciones científicas que toman como referencia su trabajo, así como, su evolución a través del tiempo, abordando el siguiente problema de investigación: ¿Cuáles son los campos temáticos de la investigación científica sobre la pedagogía de Paúlo Freire y como se manifiesta el dinamismo de su pensamiento a través de los años? Para abordar la pregunta se empleó un método de investigación mixto que consiste en un análisis bibliométrico, descriptivo y análitico, el cual contempló la ejecución de dos etapas, la primera correspondiente a una etapa heurística o exploratoria y la segunda a una etapa hermenéutica o analítica e interpretativa. Para el desarrollo de la primera etapa se realizó una búsqueda empleando la base de datos Scopus utilizando la ruta: (TITLE-ABS-KEY ("PEDAGOGY") AND TITLE-ABS-KEY ("PAULO FREIRE"). Con la información obtenida, se desarrolla la segunda etapa, empleando las herramientas de análisis de Scopus y el software libre VOSviewer. Como resultado se identifican 945 documentos publicados entre 1973 y 2025, así como autores, revistas, afiliaciones y países más influyentes, logrando interpretar los siguientes ocho clústers temáticos: 1. La raiz sociopolítica y la transformación; 2. Equidad curricular e interseccionalidad; 3. El deseo de cambio; 4. Mediación tecnológica y la aplicación social; 5. Investigación aplicada y el futuro de la educación; 6. Metodología y expresión creativa; 7. Contextos geopolíticos y los cambios históricos; y, 8. La praxis en comunidades e intervención social. Se concluye que el trabajo de Paulo Freire es un marco vigente y diverso, empleado para la transformación social, adaptado a las crisis y contextos contemporáneos. Abstract The pedagogy of liberation expounded by Paulo Freire constitutes a fundamental theoretical framework for contemporary academia, making it pertinent to develop a bibliometric analysis of the scientific publications that take his work as a reference, as well as its evolution over time, addressing the following research problem: What are the thematic fields of scientific research on the pedagogy of Paúlo Freire and how is the dynamism of his thinking manifested over the years? To address this question, a mixed research method was used, consisting of a bibliometric, descriptive, and analytical analysis. It included two stages: the first, a heuristic or exploratory stage, and the second, a hermeneutic or analytical and interpretive stage. The first stage was developed by conducting a search using the Scopus database using the following paths: (TITLE-ABS-KEY ("PEDAGOGY") AND TITLE-ABS-KEY ("PAULO FREIRE"). The second stage was then developed using Scopus analysis tools and the free software VOSviewer. As a result, 945 documents published between 1973 and 2025 are identified, as well as the most influential authors, journals, affiliations, and countries. The following eight thematic clusters are interpreted: 1. The sociopolitical root and transformation; 2. Curricular equity and intersectionality; 3. The desire for change; 4. Technological mediation and social application; 5. Applied research and the future of education; 6. Methodology and creative expression; 7. Geopolitical contexts and historical changes; and 8. Praxis in communities and social intervention. It is concluded that Paulo Freire's work is a current and diverse framework used for social transformation, adapted to contemporary crises and contexts.
