Glossary of Victim–Survivor Experiences
Abstract
Glossary of Victim-Survivor ExperiencesThe names of the 18 women and men who shared their experiences of doxxing have been pseudonymized throughout the book, to protect their anonymity and privacy.Any identifying information in their accounts has also been removed. Moreover, the women and men who participated in this study were not asked to report demographic data (for example, age, location, gender identity) as a deliberate measure to affirm and respect their autonomy to decide how much they wished to share of their stories and themselves. As such, I adopted the language they used to refer to themselves -for example, 'a woman', 'young man in a heterosexual relationship', but did not query whether they were cisgendered or gender-diverse.The following table outlines the pseudonyms used throughout the book to identify their accounts of privacy abuse, and it provides a brief overview of the type of doxxing they experienced.
