Abstract

The BeagleBone AI-64 is a powerful single-board computer built for on-the-edge AI processing and real-time control for embedded systems. Its functionality enables low-latency I/O and machine learning inference through excellent features, including two programmable real-time units (PRUs), a quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor, and C7x DSP-based AI accelerator. This paper gives an overview of its architecture and assesses its applicability in practical terms, such as interfacing industrial sensors and performing object detection. Results of experimentation illustrate how well it harmoniously merges deterministic embedded control with AI capabilities, making it a potential candidate for smart IoT systems, robotics, and industrial automation. Most powerful single-board computer built to improve edge AI processing and real-time control for embedded systems: The BeagleBone AI-64.It allows low latency I/O and executes machine learning inference using two programmable real-time units (PRUs), a quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor, and a C7x DSP-based AI accelerator. This paper provides an overview of the architecture and an evaluation of the applicability and practical scenarios in industrial sensor interfacing and object detection.Experimental results show how well the system com-bines deterministic embedded control with AI capabilities and prove it to be a promising candidate for intelligent IoT systems, robotics, and industrial automation.
