Abstract

This research paper delineates the design and implementation of a comprehensive IoT-based smart control system tailored for modern agricultural monitoring. The proposed model integrates an array of sensors, including soil moisture, DHT11, rain, and DS18B20 temperature sensors, interfaced with an ESP8266 microcontroller. The system is engineered to autonomously monitor critical agricultural parameters such as soil humidity, ambient temperature, and rainfall in real-time.A key innovation of this work is the incorporation of an automated roof shading mechanism, actuated by a servo motor, to protect harvested crops from damage due to unexpected rainfall.Furthermore, the system employs a smart irrigation module that optimizes water usage by activating only when necessary, thereby championing water conservation.Data acquisition and visualization are facilitated through the Adafruit IO cloud platform, while real-time weather forecasting is integrated via the OpenWeather API.The results demonstrate that this integrated approach significantly enhances farm management efficiency by providing actionable insights, automating protective measures, and enabling precise resource allocation, ultimately leading to reduced manual labor and improved crop yield sustainability.
