Autonomous Fire Detection and Extinguishing Robot System with Camera Module and Sensors
Abstract
This paper presents an autonomous fire detec-tion and extinguishing robot system that employs multimodal sensing and distributed control architecture. The system com-prises two distinct fire detection mechanisms: conventional flame and gas/smoke sensors with ESP32 processing, and computer vision-based fire detection using ESP32-CAM.A central ESP32 controller processes detection signals and coordinates with an STM32F103 microcontroller for LCD display.Upon fire identi-fication, the system wirelessly communicates with a firefighting robot that utilizes line-following navigation, precise flame local-ization, and water pump activation for extinguishing.Experi-mental results demonstrate the system's effectiveness in rapid fire detection (1.8 seconds average), accurate room identification, and autonomous extinguishing operations (92.4% success rate). The proposed architecture significantly reduces human intervention in hazardous environments and provides a robust solution for automated fire safety systems.
