Abstract

Traditional cattle farm record-keeping is largely manual and fragmented across paper registers, chat apps, and spreadsheets.Consequently, daily health checks, milk yield logs, vaccination schedules, and expenses are inconsistently captured and hard to analyze.Decisions such as early illness detection, feed optimization, and profitability tracking are often reactive rather than data-driven.This project proposes a mobile-first application to digitize end-to-end farm operations with simple and reliable manual data entry. Each cow is registered with a unique ID and QR code, enabling rapid retrieval of its profile and daily reporting via scanning. The app provides streamlined forms with validations for entering bills, prescriptions, and notes, and stores structured data in a NoSQL database.Automated analytics compute per-cow and herd-level 30-day summaries of milk production, expenses, and profit/loss, while health trends and anomalies are highlighted for timely action. The backend, built with Python and Flask/Fast API, aggregates data for reports and dashboards. The proposed system aims to deliver faster data capture, higher data quality, and operational transparency, ultimately improving animal health outcomes and financial performance for small to mid-sized dairy farms.
