TO DEVELOP A SUB-SONIC WIND TUNNEL FOR AERODYNAMIC TESTING
Abstract
This project focuses on the design and fabrication of a subsonic wind tunnel intended for fundamental aerodynamic testing. The setup consists of a contraction section, test section, and diffuser, driven by an exhaust fan with variable voltage control. The wind tunnel enables the study of airflow characteristics by measuring air velocity using an anemometer and fan rotational speed using a tachometer.Experiments were conducted at multiple power inputs to analyze the variation in velocity across the tunnel. The developed wind tunnel provides a low-cost and effective platform for demonstrating aerodynamic principles and supports academic research on flow behavior around various test models.
