Abstract

The structural performance of Kevlar-29 fiber-reinforced laminated polymer matrix composites fabricated using Epoxy-LY556 and Hardener HYG51is being investigated.Standardized specimens were prepared and tested for tensile strength, impact resistance, and hardness in accordance with ASTM and ISO guidelines.Finite Element Analysis (FEA) was conducted to simulate tensile loading and validate the experimental findings. Results demonstrate that increasing laminate thickness from three to five layers enhances tensile strength, hardness, and stiffness, with only minor reductions in ductility. The close agreement between experimental and computational outcomes confirms the reliability of the FEA model in predicting composite behavior. The study offers insights into the design and application of Kevlar-based composites for lightweight, high-strength engineering structures.
