Potential and Challenges of Home- stay Tourism in district Champawat of Uttarakhand

Tourism sector play major role in Uttarakhand economy and Home-stay tourism is comparatively new trend in tourism.This study examines the Potential and Challenges of Home-stay Tourism in district Champawat of Uttarakhand State of India.In this study, the concept of home-stay has been studied and the major tourist places of Champawat have been identified.The last 5 years of registered home stays data and the data of Indian and foreign tourists of the last 20 years have been analyzed and the potential and status of home-stay tourism in Champawat district of Uttarakhand has been understood, Champawat has to everything what a tourist want to from a tourist places, have a lot of potential of Home-stay tourism in this place but there are also some Challenges of Home-stay tourism in this area like as lack of basic facilities, awareness, management skills etc.Government need to improve basic infrastructure and aware local communities about Home-stay government policies, educational trainee program and should be promoted this area tourism.
