Abstract

This study examines the expectations and ownership experiences of electric two-wheeler (E2W) users in Mysore.Through a structured questionnaire administered to local E2W owners (N = 215), the research contrasts pre-purchase priorities-such as range, performance, mechanical reliability, and cost-effectivenesswith post-purchase outcomes including battery behaviour, charging convenience, maintenance frequency, and component durability. Results indicate that while low operating cost and quiet operation are widely appreciated, significant shortfalls occur in charging infrastructure, perceived battery longevity, and after-sales support. We propose engineering interventions and policy measures to close these gaps and accelerate E2W adoption in comparable urban settings.
