Abstract

The increasing demand for transportation and the rapid depletion of fossil fuels have led to serious environmental and energy-related challenges.Conventional vehicles powered by petrol and diesel contribute significantly to air pollution and global warming due to the emission of harmful gases. To overcome these problems, the use of renewable energy sources in transportation has become essential.Solar and wind energy are clean, renewable, and abundantly available sources that can be effectively utilized for electric vehicle applications. This project titled "Design and Development of a Hybrid Solar-Wind Powered Electric Vehicle" focuses on the integration of solar and wind energy to power an electric vehicle. The system uses a solar panel and a wind turbine to generate electrical energy, which is regulated and stored in a rechargeable battery. The stored energy is supplied to DC motors through a motor driver to drive the vehicle. In addition, a pneumatic system is incorporated to perform auxiliary functions such as braking assistance or mechanical actuation. The pneumatic system uses compressed air to convert pressure energy into controlled mechanical motion, enhancing safety and system performance. The proposed model is eco-friendly, costeffective, and suitable for educational and demonstration purposes. The project demonstrates the practical application of renewable energy and pneumatic technology in transportation and highlights the potential of hybrid energy systems in achieving sustainable and green mobility solutions.
